Situation

Founded in the Antiquity by fishermen from Massalia (ancient Marseille), Marseillan is the most sea oriented village in the south of the region.

Lacustrian fishing is practised. There is also the Glenans nautical center and close to the Canal du Midi is a port docking the boats that use the Canal. In the country itself the vineyards are still present, especially the ones of Noilly-Prat (vermouth).

In summer, Marseillan-Plage, with its sandy beaches, becomes very animated and attracts tourists.

Visits

Noilly-Prat : Possibility to visit this cellar where this famous beverage is made. Visits from april through october. For information call 04 67 77 20 15.

The Tow-Path : An unforgetable walk along the Blagnas lagoon. It is worthwhile to make this detour to admire the magnificent countryside with its large variety of birds.
