The
Sete fishing port has been built in the 17th century, when Colbert,
a Louis XIV minister, had decided to make a port built.
Pierre
Paul Riquet, who had built the Canal du Midi, has been responsible
for the construction. He also made the Canal de Sète built,
which links the bassin de Thau to th sea.
In the 19th century, the activity is at its top and Sete is one
of the most important french fishing ports.
